Durga Puja Heidelberg

Presents

10th -13th October 2024

Goddess Durga

Goddess Durga, often referred to as Shakti or the divine feminine power, is one of the most revered deities in Hinduism. She represents strength, courage, and protection. Armed with weapons in her multiple hands and riding a lion, she is a powerful warrior goddess who battles evil and restores balance to the universe.

Durga’s name itself means "the invincible," and she is seen as a motherly figure who fiercely protects her children (devotees) from harm, while at the same time, she nurtures and cares for the universe.

Words of Inspiration

Dosor to me is like a home away from home. The warmth and the involvement of all the members in working towards a common cause is what makes Dosor standout. Dosor gives us the opportunity to dive deep into our culture, nurture our roots, and proudly uphold our identity. Thank you Dosor!

Dosor - As the name goes, is to me like a companion whose warmth keeps me glowing and gets me going. The thing that I like the most about Dosor is the energy it brings along with it, the impact of which can be felt far and wide. Dosor has given me the opportunity to create a platform that I can call my own, thereby enabling me to nurture it and witness it grow. This feeling indeed is very special for me. With the hope to grow together, I recommend Dosor to everyone who is willing to immerse themselves into a serene blend of purity and divinity.

Dosor is not only just a community rather an extended family for me as well as for my family. It is the Indo-Bengali community in the Rhein-Neckar region built on strong trust and faith of each other as a member. One will easily feel the warmth, positivity, passion, and happiness in the environment surrounded by reliable, friendly, creative, and sympathetic lovely people working together to make a strong community of success.

Dosor is an amazing platform and a community for Expats to connect with their motherland roots and culture. It’s a thoughtful step to live and feel at home away from home. May goddess Durga bless their wonderful journey and shower peace.

Our association with Dosor was very recent when we landed in Germany last year but the rapport and camaraderie developed within this short period of time is really noteworthy. The group consists of a bunch of enthusiastic young volunteers who make you feel like a Bengali (Indian) pada away from home. Each time we meet in a group or individually it’s always fun, food, and full of addas. Members not only work arduously to create pujas and grand cultural events but most importantly be your constant friend on German soil. Thanks, Dosor family for being our Dosor ( Companion).

- Somik Ghosh, Heidelberg

Dosor is more than just a cultural group; it’s a family that comes together to celebrate, support, and uplift one another. It offers a space where we can proudly express our Bengali cultural identity, share our stories, and create cherished memories together. For anyone who longs for the familiarity of home, Dosor offers a piece of it right here. It’s a haven where our cultural roots run deep, and the sense of togetherness makes even the most distant places feel like home.

I wholeheartedly encourage anyone who treasures their cultural heritage and seeks a community that feels like family to join us in celebrating our rich traditions together.
